Disney Parks Updates: New Attractions and Future Plans

Email :6

Disney is currently working on several updates and expansions across its theme parks. Some involve replacing older areas, while others introduce new attractions based on existing franchises.

Here is what has been officially announced or clearly confirmed.

The Great Movie Ride at Disney’s Hollywood Studios was closed and replaced by Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway.

This attraction is the first ride in a Disney park to feature Mickey Mouse and his core characters as the main focus. It uses trackless ride technology and is already operating.

The Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith is still operating.

After nearly three decades featuring Aerosmith, the ride is being rebranded around the Muppets, with a planned opening in summer 2026.

Disney has confirmed that DinoLand U.S.A. at Animal Kingdom will be replaced by a new themed area.

The new land will be inspired by regions of the Americas and will include attractions based on Indiana Jones and Encanto.

More detailed elements and names have not been fully confirmed yet, while expectation is to fully replace them in 2027.

Based on Monsters, Inc., this new land introduces a technical milestone.

It will feature the first suspended roller coaster in a Disney park, designed around the door vault scene from the film. The ride concept focuses on movement and immersion rather than traditional track-based design.

Disney has announced that Magic Kingdom will undergo one of its largest expansions.

As part of this, a new area based on the Cars franchise will be developed. The expansion will include multiple attractions, although specific ride details and opening dates have not been fully confirmed.

Most of these projects are still in development. Some are confirmed at a high level, while detailed designs, timelines, and final concepts are still being finalized.

Disney has not provided exact opening dates for most of these changes. The updates will likely be introduced gradually over the coming years.
